Amana Healthcare Celebrates Rabdan Volunteer Team’s Transformation of Pediatric Villas for Children in Long-Term Care
Amana Healthcare, part of M42’s world-class network of healthcare providers and a regional leader in specialized long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation, has celebrated the completion of “Anamel Tanbod Bil Hayat,” a volunteer-led project that has transformed three pediatric villas at Amana Healthcare Village into colorful, imaginative spaces designed around the children who call them home during their care journey.
Named and delivered by the Rabdan Volunteer Team, with support from the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an through the Qfilat Al Amal Program, the initiative brought volunteers together to reimagine the indoor spaces of the villas through three distinctive themes: Emirati heritage, dinosaurs and under the sea. The result is an environment filled with character, creativity and opportunities for discovery, giving young patients new surroundings to enjoy as part of everyday life at Amana Healthcare Village.
The Rabdan Volunteer Team is a licensed Abu Dhabi community volunteer group focused on strengthening social solidarity, connecting generations and fostering a culture of service. Its initiatives also create opportunities for young people to build leadership skills, take on greater responsibility and develop a lasting commitment to volunteering.
The project’s completion was marked with a celebration attended by Khalid Al Amri, Director of Community Engagement and Volunteering at Ma’an; Salem Mubarak Al Breiki, Founder and Chairman of the Rabdan Volunteer Team; Hamda Saeed, Community Representative and Spokesperson for the Rabdan Volunteer Team; Dr. Alia Mohammed Al Jasmi, Director of the Care Homes Department at the Family Care Authority; and Suad Al Zadjali, Head of the Temporary Care Homes Section at the Family Care Authority.Amana Healthcare was represented by Ahmad Al Rai, Acting Director of Amana Healthcare Village, and Zidan Fathi Salman, Senior Director, Case Management. Young patients, caregivers and volunteers also joined the celebration.
During the event, Amana Healthcare presented commemorative plaques and certificates of appreciation to the volunteers and partner representatives whose efforts brought the project to life. The participating children were also recognized as “Future Leaders,” receiving gifts and certificates celebrating their courage, potential and place at the heart of the community.
For children receiving long-term care, the spaces around them become part of the rhythm of everyday life. A room can be somewhere to rest, play, spend time with family or simply experience something
new. By transforming familiar surroundings into spaces designed to spark curiosity and imagination, the project has added another dimension to the children’s daily experience while creating a more welcoming setting for families and caregivers to share time together.

The initiative reflects Amana Healthcare’s approach to long-term care as an experience shaped not only by clinical expertise, but by the environment, relationships, and everyday moments surrounding each patient. Building on the success of Anamel Tanbod Bil Hayat, Amana Healthcare is continuing to explore other community-led initiatives across its facilities, creating new opportunities that leave a lasting mark on the lives of patients and their families.
