Reflecting on a landmark year of screenings, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives in support of the UAE’s “Year of Community”

In support of the UAE’s “Year of Community”, M42, a global health leader powered by artificial intelligence (AI), technology and genomics, delivered one of its most expansive years of public-health outreach to date in 2025, marking a defining moment in community wellbeing and preventive health engagement across the country. These efforts reflected the spirit of the UAE’s “Year of Community,” bringing people together through meaningful health initiatives that strengthened public wellbeing and collective responsibility.
Throughout the past year, M42 and its network of assets delivered over 500 community health activations across the UAE, including awareness campaigns, community events, preventive screenings and health checks, and digital education sessions impacting over 40,000 people across the country.
These efforts reflect M42’s continued commitment to advancing health literacy, expanding access to preventive care, and building a culture of health awareness nationwide.

Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer at M42, said: “The ‘Year of Community’ gave us a powerful opportunity to accelerate our vision for a healthier nation, one where preventive care is accessible, inclusive, and rooted in meaningful community engagement. At M42, we view community health as a long-term investment, not a one-off initiative. The work delivered over the past year reinforced our belief that lasting change happens when the entire health ecosystem is aligned around shared goals. We remain committed to shaping a future where every individual across the UAE has the knowledge and resources to lead a healthier life.”
M42 delivered a series of high-visibility campaigns aligned with national priorities and global health observances, each designed to deepen public understanding and encourage early intervention.
In 2025 alone, the outreach team supported EGP by engaging with more than 400 entities across the UAE, including government institutions, private and public sector organizations, schools, and hospitals resulting in over 21,000 new samples contributed by community members. This scale of participation reflects the UAE’s enduring spirit of unity and the nation’s commitment to the ‘Year of Community’, reinforcing how M42 is driving UAE’s evolving precision health ecosystem. Building on this momentum, 2026, declared the Year of the Family, presents an opportunity to further strengthen family-centric engagement, emphasizing prevention, early detection, and collective wellbeing across generations.
M42 advanced its commitment to inclusion by rolling out the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program and installing Hearing Loops across its facilities, creating a more accessible environment for People of Determination. In recognition of World Multiple Sclerosis Day, M42 partnered with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) to deliver a comprehensive programme of patient engagement, expert-led sessions and educational content that strengthened national awareness of MS, early detection and long-term management. For World No Tobacco Day, M42 launched a dedicated tobacco-cessation helpline and combined clinical expertise with digital education to help reduce smoking-related risks and support individuals in taking meaningful steps toward quitting.

The Abu Dhabi Biobank also played a significant role in advancing community engagement through its monthly parental awareness sessions held at partner hospitals. These sessions helped educate families on the value of biobanking, its contribution to advancing medical research and how preserved samples support future healthcare improvements.
M42’s commitment to healthy living was further reinforced through its participation in the Dubai Games, where Mubadala Health Dubai and Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital engaged thousands of attendees at one of the city’s largest public sporting events. Through wellness booths, educational activities and on-site interactions, teams encouraged youth participation, active lifestyles and preventive health habits among families and young athletes. In parallel, M42 advanced a major Obesity Awareness Campaign led by the Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre and Healthpoint. Timed with World Diabetes Day and Diabetes Awareness Month.
Community participation continued through the Diabetes Run, organized by the Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre and HealthPlus Diabetes & Endocrinology Center. The event brought together families, patients and people of all ages to promote healthier living and raise awareness around early detection.
Throughout 2025, M42 delivered extensive preventive screening initiatives across the UAE through a coordinated effort led by its key healthcare assets, including Mubadala Health Dubai, Capital Health Screening Centre, Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC), HealthPlus Diabetes & Endocrinology Center, Danat Al Emarat, Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi and Healthpoint.

Across dozens of corporate, school and community activations, these teams offered diabetes, dental, physiotherapy, hypertension and general wellness checks to thousands of people. Screenings were carried across Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra, ensuring broad accessibility and strong engagement across diverse communities.
Schools such as Al Quoa School, Al Burouj School and Al Jahili School participated alongside various public education groups, benefiting from recurring obesity and nutrition workshops designed to support long-term health literacy among students and families. Major public venues such as Yas Mall, Galleria Mall, Saadiyat community events and the Sheikh Zayed Festival served as high-traffic platforms for additional M42-led health awareness days and screening booths. The outreach was further enriched through specialized medical booths offering breast cancer, dental, physiotherapy and men's health screenings across malls, corporate offices and residential communities.
These initiatives reflect a shared dedication to elevating community health through meaningful engagement, education, and early detection. The breadth of activity across M42’s network highlights the organisation’s ongoing role in building a strong culture of health literacy and proactive care. As these efforts continue to expand, communities across the UAE stand to benefit from deeper outreach, broader access, and sustained, long-term impact.
